SATURDAY, MARCH 30 @ 8PM
Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, PA
pre-concert talk at 7pm “Joe and The Crossing”
a recollection honoring the life of Joseph Flummerfelt
Donald Nally, conductor
with John Grecia, keyboards, Doris Hall-Gulati, clarinet, and Arlen Hlusko, cello.
The Crossing honors the legacy of the most influential choral conductor of our time, a legacy which lives on strongly in our lives and our art following his passing on March 1. Turning to music that recalls our history and his, we sing works of Gavin Bryars, Samuel Barber, Herbert Howells, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Michael Gilbertson, and world premiere of Robert Convery, written in memory of Joe.
Not a memorial, nor a celebration.
More like a musical picture book;
sung, in concert, For Joe
